GCI enhances Web site

Starting May 21, Golf Course Industry's Web site will be exclusively dedicated to the industry and industry professionals.

Each month, about 36,000 industry professionals access Golf Course Industry’s Web site (www.golfcourseindustry.com). In the business-to-business world, that’s an impressive number of visitors, as is the 6 million pages that are accessed annually on our site.

As the leading provider of news to the industry, www.golfcourseindustry.com has built this traffic by being the first with news each day, week and month.  In addition to our commitment to providing the most up-to-date news, our Web site includes the most comprehensive new product database, an all-inclusive MSDS database, industry events calendar, message board, and all of the back issues of Golf Course Industry and Golf Course News. We will continue to add new technologies to our sites during the coming months, such as webcasts and podcasts specific to your needs as Golf Course Industry readers.

In addition to these new areas of content, we also will become a Web site exclusively dedicated to the industry and industry professionals.  The new technology we invested in allows each subscriber to have his or her own unique password.  This password is tied to your subscription because that’s how we determine who qualifies to receive Golf Course Industry magazine in the first place.  So … your everyday golfer will no longer have access to the Web site. 

Starting May 21, when you visit www.golfcourseindustry.com, you will be greeted with a message asking you for your e-mail address and password.  Your e-mail address is the one that you provided us when you renewed your subscription.  On May 21, sections of the Web site will be “locked down”. In other words, an e-mail address and password will be required to access those areas, which are: magazine, resources (except the store and products), events, community (except the message board) and your business.

We realize that in today’s world, everyone has more passwords than they would like.  Our goal is to make this easy for you.  For GCI subscribers, your password is already printed on your mailing label (and will be with every forthcoming issue).  That password is the alphanumeric code appearing directly above your name in the mailing label on the magazine, starting with the May issue, which will arrive in your office early next week.

Once you enter this information, you will have full access to all areas of the site.
