The curtain rose on four new greensmowers at a Toro even Feb. 8 during the Golf Industry Show.
Greensmaster Flex, eFlex, TriFlex and TriFlex Hybrid models were previewed in the event, including an industry first, they said. The lithium-ion battery in the eFlex model lasts long enough to mow nine greens in one charge at an average of 5,000 sq. ft. each., according to Toro representatives. The battery charges to 96 percent in four hours. The new Flex and eFlex models also feature:
• Improved operator controls including an automated EZ-Turn feature will provide operators with better control and comfort at all times.
• An all-new belt-drive transmission, that drives both the traction and reel, is powered either by a new heavy duty industrial gas engine (Flex models) or lithium-ion Battery technology (eFlex models).
• Variable Clip Feature - allows for 6 selectable clip options per reel type (8, 11, or 14 blade reel options) - 18 distinct clip rates in all. This feature allows customers to easily optimize the clip rate for the desired height of cut/playing condition.
Both models will be available for preview at the Toro booth Feb. 9-10, and will be released later this fall.
Also revealed were the TriFlex and TriFlex Hybrid riding greensmowers. The new models feature:
• The double “A”-Arm Flex suspension system plus the exclusive lift-in-turn feature.
• An all-electric reel drive system in the TriFlex Hybrid that virtually eliminates hydraulic leaks and delivers ample horsepower to handle a broad range of cutting applications.
