Valent Professional Products announced that Clipper Aquatic Herbicide is now available for use by golf course superintendents and lawn care operators (LCOs).
Clipper controls many tough aquatic plants including duckweed and watermeal and has activity on some algae, according to Dr. Jason Fausey, regional field development manager for Valent Professional Products.
“Clipper is an effective new tool for golf course superintendents and LCOs that quickly controls some of the toughest aquatic plants they face,” Dr. Fausey said. “It’s easy to handle, easy to mix and easy to apply.
“Most importantly,” Dr. Fausey added, “Clipper provides consistent results and activity is observed within 3-5 days after the application.”
Available in a convenient new 1-lb package, Clipper dissipates quickly from the water column and does not accumulate in the sediment. It has minimal irrigation restrictions and does not require perfect coverage for maximum results. Available as a water dispersible granule for easy mixing, transport and application, Clipper can be easily applied to small ponds with a backpack sprayer from the shoreline.
“Aquatic plant management is a problem most golf course superintendents have to deal with at some point during the year,” said David Frye, marketing and alliance manager for Valent Professional Products. “We’re pleased to be able to offer them a new and highly effective chemistry that will help keep their on-course waterbodies looking healthy and free of undesirable vegetation.”
