During this years US Open, Turf Republic will provide you with a unique experience to enjoy the US Open through an interactive social media experience. The 2013 US Open also reunites the Penn State Turfgrass Program and Merion Golf Club. In 1929 the Penn State University began it's Turfgrass Management Program after demand from then Merion GC Superintendent Joseph Valentine. Matt Shaffer current Merion GC Superintendent is a graduate of the Penn State program as well as many employees and volunteers at Merion GC for this year's US Open.
