The National 8400, a triplex mower is offered with an optional National Mower’s Vertical Mowing System. A low center of gravity gives the machine control on hills, while a powerful hydrostatic drive easily handles steep slopes. Named the “King of the Hill”, the thin, contoured blade design allows more frequent vertical mowing on berms, bunkers, edging or curbs.
The hydrostatic drive provides independent reel and ground speeds lets The National 8400operators slow down and cut tough spots while maintaining an excellent cut. A wing lift lever lets operators raise side cutting units around obstacles without leaving their seat.
A single toggle turns on all three cutting units with simplified safety switches and power steering gives ultimate control allowing operators to handle tight turns, mow around trees and follow the contour of a bunker in one maneuver. A Dial-a-Height deck adjustment from 5/8-inch to 2 ¼-inches requires no tools and is changed in one step.
Controls include a foot operated traction pedal for forward or reverse, hand operated throttle and choke controls, free wheeling tow valve, electric clutch for cutting units and hand operated parking brake.
Optional attachments include eight blade reels, rear roller scrapers, anti scalp front rollers and rubber covered rollers.
Additional National 8400 features:
