Woodland Valley Country Club names golf professional

The course, in Loris, S.C., hired Bill Bernschein.

Steve Taylor, president of Signature Golf Group announced that Bill Bernschein has joined Woodland Valley Country Club as the head golf professional.

Woodland Valley Country Club is an 18-hole Russell Breeden design located in Loris, S.C. Loris is part of the Myrtle Beach golf market. Formerly named Diamondback the course took on the name Woodland Valley in conjunction with the housing development now selling home sites around the course.

Bernschein and his wife Christine relocated to Myrtle Beach from Northern Virginia in January 2003 and was hired as the general manager and head golf professional at the International Club in Murrells Inlet. Prior to being hired at Woodland Valley, Bernschein was the general manager of a property management and vacation rental company in North Myrtle Beach.  He also has an extensive background in golf package sales, internet marketing and Web site construction.

Bernschein has over 16 years experience as a golf professional and has been a Class A member of the Professional Golfers Association of America since 1997. Prior to relocating to Myrtle Beach, Bill worked 5 years for a large Middle Atlantic golf management company as a general manager specializing in golf facility operations and new acquisition
