Banner Elk, N.C. - Angelo Accetturo, founder and c.e.o. of Astro Investment Group, announces the debut of his newest luxury resort community -Wilderness Trail, a 1,000-acre resort destination now under construction. The sports and family-oriented community plans to feature custom single-family homes, town homes and furnished cottages as well as a Fazio-Robbins 18-hole championship golf course, 12 miles of wilderness hiking trails and a family-oriented Sporting Complex.
The 320 estate homes sites are priced from the $300,000s. The developer is also planning to build about 150 town homes and about 30 furnished Sporting Cottages. Single-family homes are built on a contracted basis with custom home design and construction being handled by the buyer’s choice of several hand-selected homebuilders. Underground utilities and municipal water, sewer and natural gas are currently being installed. This will be the first and only gated golf community of its kind in the area with city sewer and water.
Construction on the golf course is under way, with the first 10 holes projected to be open in 2009. The 7,036-yard, five-tee golf course and the proposed Great Lodge will be home to grand practice greens and driving ranges; as well as a clubhouse flaunting soaring ceilings and a glass wall that overlooks miles of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains; a retail store; swimming pool; children’s game room with organized activities; and a fine dining restaurant.
The community concept also includes a Sporting Complex, proposed to house a spa, pool, tennis courts, indoor racquet ball courts and a 30-foot climbing wall; in addition, there will be a wellness program, as well as an abundance of planned activities for children and teens. Construction on the Sporting Complex is projected to begin in 2009.
Just outside the community bounds is the resort village of Banner Elk, which offers an abundance of social, recreational and cultural amenities including restaurants, art galleries, musical and theatrical performances, an historical museum, an award-winning winery and upscale retail shopping.
Wilderness Trail is a member of the distinguished Audubon International Silver Signature Program, which ensures that the community adheres to nature preservation standards.
