Wiedenmann introduces new shallow aerifiers

Designed for golf courses and sports fields, Terra Core aerifiers are 58 and 78 inches wide, and adjust in 1/64-inch increments.

Wiedenmann North America is introducing Terra Core, a line of highly efficient shallow aerifiers available in two sizes. The machines are made in the United States and ready to ship.

The Terra Core 6 is intended for use on greens, tees and sports fields. Its compact design — 58 inches wide — follows greens undulations. It features six aerification arms and heads, and may be deployed using a small tractor.

The Terra Core 8, meanwhile, is intended for use on fairways, tees and sports fields. Its wider working width — 78 inches — covers larger areas in a relatively shorter period of time. It features eight aerification arms and heads.

Terra Core go to depths down to four inches; adjusts in 1/64-inch increments; drills straight holes rather than oblong holes; and works with multiple sizes of coring tines and solid tines.

Wiedenmann North America president Will Wolverton said the new machines are “recommended for most every aerification situation for courses or fields with satisfactory soils,” adding that, “some troubled soils may require aerification at a deeper depth.”

“There are a couple of similar machines on the market, but ours is cost-effective while producing great results,” Wolverton said. “The other aerification machines in our portfolio are designed to go deeper for those troubled soils that need more aerification depth. These deeper machines are usually a little slower — contradiction between speed and depth — and usually cost a little more.”
