Maybe you’ve been laid off and you’re looking for work. Maybe you have a job, but you’ve topped out at your current position and you’re considering a company with advancement opportunities. Or maybe you’re just plain interested to hear what management and contract maintenance companies look for when hiring superintendents.
If any of these is the case, take a look at the word cloud we created with the answers supplied by the firms who appear on our Top Management and Top Contract Maintenance Companies Lists when we asked, “What top three traits do you look for when hiring superintendents?” Using Wordle.net, we pasted in all of the companies’ responses, and the site automatically generated the word cloud, which gives greater prominence to words that appear more frequently.
As you can see, “experience” was the No. 1 most valued trait.
Word clouds certainly aren’t perfect; for example, sometimes “experience” was on its own and sometimes companies coupled it with adjectives – indicating traits like “agronomic experience” or “management experience.” Though not a science, it’s still interesting to see which words appeared most frequently in the results.
