Western Golf Properties, in the business of development and management of golf facilities, signed a national account agreement with Jacobsen, a Textron company.

"Western Golf Properties is an organization on the rise," said Dave Wanta, Jacobsen national account sales manager. "Jacobsen is on the leading edge of technology and innovation in the turf equipment industry, and Western Golf has utilized this technology to maintain superior conditions on both their current golf courses and those under development."

Western Golf Properties currently manages 13 facilities spanning from California to Delaware, three of which are yet to be opened.

"We are experiencing explosive growth and look forward to a long-term relationship with Jacobsen," said Frank Denniston, president of Western Golf Procurement, the purchasing arm of hotels, resorts and golf courses for Western Golf Properties. "Jacobsen is comprised of an exemplary dealer network and individuals who are consistently enthusiastic and believe in their products."

"The quality of cut you get from a Jacobsen product is second to none," said Stephen Cohoon, certified golf course superintendent (CGCS) at Heritage Hunt Golf & Country Club, a Western Golf Properties course located in Gainesville, Va. "Jacobsen is an integral part of our operations and has been a contributing factor to the success we've experienced since opening in 2000."

A major factor in the decision process was Jacobsen's recommitment to the industry over the past year, the performance of its machines and the strengthening of its national dealer network. G.L. Cornell Company, a Jacobsen dealer based in Maryland and Virginia, was heavily involved throughout the negotiation process, communicating with both Western Golf personnel and also individual course superintendents.

"This is a long term commitment from us that is going to provide Western Golf Properties' courses with greater value from their Jacobsen machines," Wanta said.
