J. Andrew Langan is the new chairman of the Western Golf Association, leading the WGA and Evans Scholars Foundation during a period of growth and momentum building ahead of the ESF’s 100th anniversary in 2030.

The WGA’s board of governors elected Langan to serve as chair during its December meeting. He succeeds former chairman Steve Colnitis, an Evans Scholar alumnus who lives in Baltimore, and will serve a two-year term through 2027.

“The WGA and ESF are entering a pivotal chapter,” Langan said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to help lead the organization as we continue expanding opportunities through the Evans Scholars Foundation and build momentum toward our 100th anniversary in 2030.”

A WGA director since 2016, Langan has served as Illinois state chair and chair of the audit committee within the WGA, contributing to governance and long-range planning as the organization continues to expand its national impact. His experience guiding complex organizations through periods of growth and change will support the WGA’s strategic priorities in the years ahead.

Langan has extensive experience as litigation and trial counsel and has served as principal counsel to major corporate clients in litigation and merger investigations. His term as chairman begins as the WGA, which conducts six professional and amateur golf championships and oversees the nationally recognized ESF, executes a strategic plan focused on continued growth, expanded youth caddie opportunities, and increased access to college education for students nationwide.

WGA president and CEO John Kaczkowski said Langan’s leadership experience and thoughtful approach make him well suited to guide the organization through this important period.

“Andy has been a trusted leader within the WGA, and his perspective and judgment will be invaluable as we continue a strong period of growth,” Kaczkowski said. “He understands our mission and brings the experience needed to help guide the organization in the years ahead.”

Langan lives in Winnetka, Illinois, with his wife Susan, and is a member of Skokie Country Club and Champaign Country Club in Illinois; and Sea Island Golf Club, Ocean Forest Golf Club and Frederica Golf Club in Georgia.
