The Wanderers Club at Wellington is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation of the golf course by Jacobsen Hardy Design Group and is expected to re-open in late November as a private, membership-only club.
Wash’s club management experience includes being General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Lochinvar Golf Club in Houston where his expertise in financial planning and business development improved long-term membership growth and the club’s financial stability. He was also General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of The Golf Club of Purchase in Purchase, New York, managing major construction projects that included a $38 million golf course and a $12 million clubhouse renovations.
Wash is also overseeing operations at the world-class International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, which Goodman also owns.
Wash joins Goodman’s clubs from Bentwater Yacht and Country Club in Montgomery, Texas, where he was the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the exclusive, privately-owned 3,000 home/membership community.
At both clubs, Wash will be directing operations, including finance and budgeting, human resources, food and beverage and technological development.
Wash brings a vast wealth of experience in all aspects of golf, resort and country club service. He initially graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and then went on to become an Executive Chef. From there he made the transition to hotel management at the General Manager level. In 1996, Wash joined the elite group of accredited club managers as he became a CCM, (Certified Club Manager) a distinction that marks the highest level of professionalism within the industry.
“My management philosophy has always been to provide a superior lifestyle for club members,” said Wash, an active member of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA). “The key to a successful club is to ensure club members experience the full potential this lifestyle brings. I also work closely with the staff encouraging each one to be innovative, to be decisive, and above all to maintain integrity. I am looking forward to continuing the IPC tradition and reputation as an international, world-class polo club and having the Wanderers Club join that level.”
Louie Bartoletti remains as General Manager at Wanderers Club and Justin Thompson, formerly an assistant at Pine Valley, is the Head Golf Pro.
