Far Hills, N.J. – Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colo., was selected to host the 2006 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship. The championship will be played June 20 through 26.
Walking Stick, designed by Arthur Hills, opened in 1991 and is maintained by the City of Pueblo. Primarily a links-style design, Walking Stick features hilly desert terrain. The course is hosting its first USGA championship.
Walking Stick has hosted U.S. Open local qualifying as well as the National Insurance Youth Classic, the Colorado Section PGA Championship and the Colorado Amateur Stroke Play Championship.
Prior to 2006, the Women’s Amateur Public Links will be played at Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City, Mo., July 11 through 16.
