During its recent annual meeting, the Virginia Golf Course Superintendents Association elected its 2009 Board of Directors.
Eric Spurlock of Hermitage Country Club will lead the organization as president. Jeff Berg of Goose Creek Golf Club will serve as vice president, and Matt Boyce of Princess Anne Country Club as secretary-treasurer.
The Board includes five external vice presidents representing their respective local associations: Peter McDonough of Kewick Club (Old Dominion GCSA), Jeff Van Fleet of Forest Greens GC (Greater Washington GCSA), Chris Petrelli of Cedar Point CC (Tidewater Turfgrass Association), Ed Eagle of Ingleside Resort (Shenandoah Valley Turfgrass Association) and Kim Garnett of Blacksburg CC (Virginia Turfgrass Association).
Rounding out the board are representatives in two newly added positions, John Libassi of Heritage Oaks CC as assistants representative and Mark Merrick, CGCS of Syngenta, as the associates representative.
