Victoria Hills to take part in 'Take Your Daughter to the Course Week'

The St. Joe Course waives green fees and offers free golf clinic for junior girls.

Victoria Hills Golf Club - Ron Garl design in Victoria Park, a St. Joe community in DeLand, Fla. - announced it will offer free green fees to junior girls accompanied by a paying adult during the week of July 10-16 as part of the national player development program, "Take Your Daughter to the Course Week."

In addition to free play, Victoria Hills will offer junior girls complimentary instructional clinics at its Ron Garl designed, state-of-the-art practice facility each Saturday during the month of July starting at 11 a.m. The course is conveniently located midway between Orlando and Daytona approximately two miles off Interstate 4.

"We are honored to participate in this much-needed national program," says David Buth, general manager of Victoria Hills Golf Club. "Only four million juniors are currently golfing, and only 13 percent of those four million are female. It is imperative that course owners and operators encourage more junior girls to become involved in golf so they can experience the enjoyment of the game and benefit from the life skills it offers."

Take Your Daughter to the Course Week is sponsored by the National Golf Course Owners Association (NCGOA) in cooperation with the PGA, LPGA, LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, EWGA, and Golf for Women Magazine. The program is part of "Play Golf America," a nationwide golf-marketing program led by the PGA of America. Launched in 2004, the campaign focuses on a target audience of new and occasional golfers -- a combined group of 31 million individuals -- to bolster play at public golf facilities.
