Greeley, Colo. – Verdicon upgraded its proprietary wetting agent product line. The two products, Respond 3 and MiZer, are designed to battle localized dry spot, compaction and other management issues such as water optimization.
Respond 3 concentrated wetting and penetrating agent has all the benefits of its predecessors – penetration, lateral movement and residual with turf safety. The difference is in the residual portion of the product which has been enhanced with improved re-wetters that provide effects that last as long as 25 percent longer than the previous formulation, according to the company.
Respond 3 also contains 100-percent active ingredients.
It can be used weekly or monthly on a managed program or applied at high dose rates for curative purposes or to provide season-long control if desired. Season-long control for northern climates are achieved with a single early application, while southern climates require multiple applications to achieve season-long control.
In addition, Respond 3 has a low water volume application rate and requires little “watering-in” to be effective once applied.
Respond 3 is available as a liquid formulation in 2 x 2.5 gallon jugs, 30-gallon drums and as a granular in 50-lb. bags. New formulation for Respond 2 curative tablets are coming next season.
MiZer water conserver is a new product designed for use in irrigation systems covering large turf areas such as golf courses, sports fields and commercial turf. It lessens the effects of water-repellent turf and reduces costs by conserving water that's lost through surface evaporation plus optimizes water performance from irrigation and rainfall.
It's also effective when used in conventional spray equipment for smaller areas such as landscapes and home lawns and can help irrigation performance in container and field-grown nurseries.
The bulk of the active ingredient in MiZer is the same that's found in Respond 3. MiZer has an addition of a linear polyacrilymide which acts as a flocculant to improve water and air movement in the soil. This ingredient adds a cumulative benefit in the soil that greatly aids in water retention.
MiZer can be applied at a reduced cost per acre.
Available in 2.5 gallon jugs and 30 and 55-gallon drums, MiZer helps treat large turf and ornamental areas and helps save on water and labor costs.
Alleviate provides benefits for turf managers looking to cure localized dry spot by directly treating the problems in the soil. It’s hydrophobe tenside chemistry breaks down the hydrophobic materials that coat the particles in the soil profile and flushes them from the soil. This helps reinstate the soil’s natural water receptivity and provides a longer-lasting effect. Alleviate is available in 2 x 2.5-gallon jugs.
