ValleyCrest adds superintendents

Robert Francischine, Gregory Goodman and Jeff Couwenhoven join the Northern California team of ValleyCrest superintendents.

Calabasas, Calif. – ValleyCrest Golf Course Maintenance, a division of ValleyCrest Companies, added Robert Francischine, Gregory Goodman and Jeff Couwenhoven to the Northern California team of ValleyCrest superintendents.

Francischine has been named golf course superintendent for the city of Stockton’s Van Buskirk and Lyons Golf Courses. He was formerly the grow-in superintendent for ValleyCrest at Wild Wings Golf Club in San Jose, Calif.
Francischine has been involved in golf course maintenance since 1968 and received his degree in turfgrass management from the University of Georgia.

Other California courses formerly under the care of Francischine include Tayman Park Country Club in the Sacramento area, Micke Grove Golf Links in Lodi, and Greenhorn Creek in Angeles Camp.

Goodman has been appointed golf course superintendent at Swenson Park Golf Course in Stockton, Calif.

A class A superintendent, Goodman was formerly the superintendent at El Dorado Hills Golf Course in El Dorado Hills, Calif. He began his career in the golf industry as an equipment mechanic and later became the golf course superintendent at Lockford Springs Golf Course in Lodi, Calif.

Goodman studied horticulture and chemical engineering at Sacramento State University.

Couwenhoven has been promoted to golf course superintendent at Diamond Oaks Golf Course in Roseville, Calif. He began his career with ValleyCrest as the assistant superintendent at Tracy Golf Course and later moved to Woodcreek Golf Course.

Prior to joining ValleyCrest, Couwenhoven held the position of assistant superintendent at Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif.

He received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics with an emphasis on farm management from Fresno State University.
