UPI adds customer service capacity, among other changes

The number 866-287-9190 will serve the turf/ornamental/PCO, aquatics and Canadian ag markets.

United Phosphorus Inc. is instituting changes to improve the organization’s ability to service the marketplace and its customers. In addition to adding a dedicated customer service line (866-287-9190) for the turf/ornamental/PCO, aquatics and Canadian ag markets, the company is making changes in four major areas. These include decentralizing national account management; improving customer service; improving supply chain management; and instituting a new UPI account management model – all with the goal of better meeting the business needs of customers.

The decentralized national account management team will be lead by Wayne Smith, vice president of sales. He will have oversight of four regional sales directors who will assume day-to-day management responsibilities for customer accounts in the company’s Northern, Southern, Western and Canadian regions.

Customer service will be lead by Gary Kreckmann, director of business services, who will oversee customer service, communications and information technology. Kreckmann will remain the interim Northern Regional Sales Director until his replacement is announced.

Charlene Bedal, a former UPI account manager, will lead the new turf/ornamental/PCO, aquatics and Canadian ag customer service department.

Greg Hutchison will guide the supply chain management efforts as director. Hutchison brings more than 20 years of logistics and supply chain management experience.

In addition, Brian Cardin has assumed the southern regional sales director position with UPI. Brian brings more than 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the crop protection industry.
