Guelph, Ontario, Canada – Starting in September, the office of open learning at the University of Guelph will offer a new online program which will be of interest to golf course superintendents and other professionals employed in the field. The six-course Maintaining Golf Courses certificate provides the flexibility to gain valuable knowledge at a time and place convenient to the learner.
The new certificate will be launched with two new Web-based courses, Turf Management and Golf Course Design and Construction. In addition to the two courses, Introduction to Plant Identification, part of the new Creating Landscapes certificate, also will benefit golf course industry professionals wanting to further enhance their knowledge base. Courses can be taken individually or as part of the Certificate program.
“The office of open learning and University of Guelph continue with the tradition of bringing high-quality, interactive and flexible programs that address the professional development needs of Golf professionals everywhere,” says Virginia Gray, director of the office of open learning. The University is in the process of applying for Golf Course Superintendents Association of America accreditation for its courses, according to Gray.
