Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck names g.m.

John Roberts is a 20-year executive within the private clubs arena.

Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck (N.J.), a proud member of the world’s finest portfolio of golf course and family country clubs, announced the appointment of John J. Roberts as general manager/c.o.o.

As g.m., Roberts manages and directs all aspects of the Club, including relationships between the Club and its members, guests, employees, community and local government. Other responsibilities include the coordination and administration of the Club’s operating policies and procedures, as well as, overall responsibility for the consistent delivery of the Club’s products and services for 100-percent member and guest satisfaction.

Experience, associations and education

Roberts, a 20-year executive within the private clubs arena, joins Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck from Beacon Hill Country Club where he served as General Manager/COO since 2007. A member-owned, private club with 440 members, Roberts was instrumental in the execution and completion of a $9.5 million total renovation to the 40,000 square foot clubhouse facility.  Prior to that, Roberts held General Manager and COO positions at a variety of prestigious, private country clubs, including Albany, Evanston, Nassau, Westchester and White Manor. He also served as President of Roberts Consulting, a privately-owned consulting firm established to assist private clubs in the areas of executive searches, strategic planning, preventive maintenance programs, master site planning and food & beverage profitability to name a few.

A graduate of State University of New York at Morrisville, Roberts holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Hotel, Restaurant & Food Service Administration.  He has also successfully completed CMAA’s Business Management Institute Programs (Series I, II and III).

Roberts is currently on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Club Managers Association. He is also a former member of the Metropolitan Club Manager’s Association where he served as Regional Director for Capital District and Executive Career Services Chair.

Presently he is a Mid-Atlantic Regional Council Member for the National Club Association.

In addition to his daughter Cydney in Albany, N.Y. and his mother Hilda Byrne of Willimantic, Conn., Roberts ‘passions include new and vintage automobiles as well as golf, tennis and other spectator sports. Roberts is a resident of Holmdel, N.J.
