As neighboring residents continue to complain of severe flooding from runoff, County Executive Janet S. Owens this week expressed pride over the Compass Pointe Golf Course despite the bumps it has encountered during construction.

"As far as I'm concerned I own this golf course and I wear it proudly," Ms. Owens said at a tree planting ceremony at the 27-hole course Thursday, describing its construction as a "long, hard, arduous challenge."

For some, though, it seems the challenge may have just begun.
