The Golf Tournament Association of America was created to assist organizations that produce golf tournament events improve on the success of their outings.

Phoenix, AZ – The Golf Tournament Association of America, the official association for the golf tournament, outing and event industry, has been formed. The GTAA was created to assist organizations that produce golf tournament events improve on the success of their outings.

There is no charge for membership in the GTAA for event coordinators. It includes services that will assist coordinators in producing an event.

Benefits include:
· Education – Monthly newsletter will be offered via e-mail to all members;
· Training – Weekly seminars nationwide will be offered to all members;
· Information and updates – Tournament tips will be sent via e-mail each month;
· Planning guide – A step-by-step manual to assist in organizing and planning their events;
· Resource directory – A complete list of product and services needed for a golf tournament event;
· Web site – An Internet portal that will help all members with ideas, information and tools that will help them with their event;
· Golf course locator and negotiations – A service to assist with golf course bookings and negotiations, guaranteed lowest prices; and
· Consulting – A network of consultants will be available to assist.

There are more than a million amateur golf outings in this country each year. The average event has 80 players and raises $5,000. The GTAA was created to assist these groups in increasing the bottom line.

Members include: American Builders and Contractors, American Cancer, American Heart, American Red Cross, Bayer, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy Scouts, Boys & Girls Club, Catholic Charities, Children’s Miracle Network, Coca Cola, Epilepsy Foundation, Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, Kidney Foundation, Make A Wish, Marriott, NAACP, National Safety Counsel, Rotary, Lions Club, Ronald McDonald House, Salvation Army, Special Olympics and YMCA.

There will be more than 100 seminars in 2005 around the country hosted at various golf courses covering many topics. The seminars are at no charge to members and include lunch and a free round of golf.

“We are excited to help golf event coordinators from around the country a source that will help tournament directors improve their events,” Doug Weber, executive director for GTAA says.
