The Toro Company will once again partner with the Talladega speedway to help maintain the grounds as the exclusive supplier of turfgrass maintenance equipment.
“Toro is thrilled to be partnering again this year with Talladega Superspeedway,” said Peter Moeller, director of sports fields and grounds marketing at Toro. “It takes months of preparation to ready the grounds for race weekend at Talladega, and we are proud that Toro equipment is helping the cause, from mowing the turf to transporting tools, supplies and crew members.”
Toro products on site include Workman® 1110 utility vehicles, a Workman 3200 heavy-duty utility vehicle, and several Toro walk power mowers and riding mowers. With 212 acres of land inside the Talladega speedway itself, one very important product is the Groundsmaster® 580-D wide area rotary mower with a 16-foot width of cut for maximum productivity. Also in the equipment mix is a mid-size floating deck mower with hydrostatic drive and the exclusive Turbo Force® cutting system.
“The relationship between Talladega Superspeedway and Toro has been a win-win for both and we are happy to work with them again,” said Rick Humphrey, president of Talladega Superspeedway.
Toro’s equipment and expertise are also utilized at a variety of other venues including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway®, the Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis Club, all Super Bowl venues, the University of Notre Dame, the Rose Bowl, soccer’s World Cup, Walt Disney World® Resort, and many collegiate and professional sports stadiums.
