The Toro Co. has agreed to continue to sponsor the highly-regarded American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) program Remodeling University through 2011. Toro’s commitment to sponsor the program for three years means it is the first company to sign on as a major partner in ASGCA’s new supplier partner program, which supports ASGCA’s educational initiatives.
“We are grateful to Toro for their years of support and for continuing to view our relationship as a true partnership,” notes President Bruce Charlton, ASGCA. “We both understand that financial support is a base from which we can develop programs that will benefit them, us and the industry as a whole. It’s a great fit for both of us.”
The major partnership level of support helps ASGCA develop educational programming and tools that will help ASGCA members work more effectively with clients in golf development and remodeling. For example, in addition to sponsoring Remodeling University, Toro is working with ASGCA to produce a DVD on planning and financing a golf course remodel.
“Golf course architects have significant industry influence and value educational opportunities that enhance business development,” says John Lawrence, Toro’s Director of Strategic Accounts. “We are proud to partner with the ASGCA, supporting their efforts in creating educational curriculum for successful remodel projects. We look forward to our three year partnership.”
Remodeling University has educated thousands of green committee members, club managers, superintendents and others who need to understand the golf course remodeling process since its inception in 2000. This “Short Course to a Better Course” has been hosted by local and national golf associations nationwide. Information shared at Remodeling University symposiums is also located on the web at www.asgca.org, a website whose recent expansion makes it a leading destination on the internet for those who want to learn more about golf course renovation.
