Two companies are teaming to help golf courses more efficiently manage water resources. The Toro Co. formed an alliance with ITT Flowtronex in which Toro distributors will now offer Flowtronex pump stations when golf courses are purchasing Toro irrigation products in North America.
“By offering industry-leading Flowtronex pump stations as part of a complete irrigation package, our Toro distributors will be able to give superintendents tremendous value and efficiency," says David Angier, marketing manager of golf irrigation for Toro. "In addition to having one point of contact when acquiring a Toro irrigation system and Flowtronex pump station package, customers will also be able to realize the benefits of further product integration.”
“As part of this agreement, we are working closely with Flowtronex to increase the level of product integration and communication between Toro control systems and Flowtronex pump station software,” Angier said. “Superintendents will have an unprecedented level of integration and control when they use Toro irrigation systems and Flowtronex pump stations.”
In terms of water management, the benefits of this agreement will be far reaching. Flowtronex parent company, ITT, has an entire portfolio of water-related products and services, including reverse osmosis, UV treatment and more. As these technologies are combined with Flowtronex pump stations, customers will realize substantial benefits. “There are many challenges with using effluent and salt water for golf course watering,” said Angier. “By using ITT technologies, Flowtronex pump stations and Toro irrigation products, we will be able to deliver a complete source to course water management solution.”
“This alliance is a key part of our overall water management strategy,” says Phil Burkart, vice president and general manager of Toro’s Irrigation Businesses. “One of our goals is to provide golf course superintendents with practical solutions for water management, and our alliance with ITT Flowtronex will help us accomplish this.”
Toro will be looking to add additional enhancements in the future, such as expanding Toro’s National Support Network (Toro NSN) to include support for Flowtronex pump stations and extending the alliance to international markets.
