On the heels of assuming management of the golf facilities at JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, Ariz., Marriott Golf announced Todd Howard as the director of golf operations at Starr Pass Golf Club. Howard will be responsible for overseeing all golf shop operations, retail merchandising, golf programming, and outings and tournament coordination at the newly renovated Arnold Palmer Signature 27-hole golf facility.
A member of the Marriott Golf team for almost two decades, Howard most recently served as director of golf operations at Grande Pines Golf Club, one of the premier public facilities in Central Florida. Having started his career in 1987 as Assistant Golf Professional at Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., Marriott Golf’s original property, Howard has since served as the Tournament Coordinator, Golf Shop Manager, and the Head Golf Professional at some of Marriott Golf’s premier properties throughout the country including Griffin Gate Resort in Lexington, Ky.
“Starr Pass has always been a highly rated facility, and I am excited to be a part of the team as Marriott assumes management of the property,” Howard says. “My tenure with Marriott has enabled me to gain invaluable experience, which has prepared me for the challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead.”

A Class “A” PGA Member, Howard has also earned several playing accomplishments during his career including 1997 Champion at the PGA Assistant’s Championship, Southwest Region; 1992 Champion at the PGA Assistant’s Championship, North Texas Section; and 1993 Champion at the PGA Assistant’s Matchplay, North Texas Section. Howard received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, Ariz.
