Glenn W. Burton, Ph.D., an agronomist credited with improving the food staple pearl millet and developing popular grasses for athletic fields and golf courses, died at the age of 95.
Burton introduced Tiffine, his first ultrashort hybrid turfgrass, to the golf market. His turf work earned him a place in the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame.
