Third edition of environmental course development book released

“An Environmental Approach to Golf Course Development" includes 18 case studies.

The Environmental Committee of the American Society of Golf Course Architects has published the third edition of “An Environmental Approach to Golf Course Development.” All three editions have been written and edited by ASGCA environmental committee chairman Bill Love, ASGCA. The book is available from ASGCA for $10.

The full-color, 57-page book includes background and instructions for anyone involved in the development of a new layout or the remodeling of an existing golf course.

The book includes 18 new case studies from throughout North America that illustrate success stories in the industry. It also features a dramatically expanded reference section, listing seminal books and important Web sites for those who need further information on this topic.

"This book is a great resource for anyone involved in golf development or remodeling," says ASGCA president Bruce Charlton. “Whether you’re the one communicating the benefits of a golf project and need examples to show the golf industry’s commitment to environmental stewardship, or you’re the one who needs to understand more about how golf approaches development in an environmentally-sensitive way, the information in this book will be useful.”
