Installing snow fences is a potential method for reducing desiccation on putting greens. By allowing the snow to accumulate behind a snow fence, a natural cover is provided to the green. A snow cover helps reduce the potential for exposed sites to be exposed to wind, sun, and fluctuating temperatures. It also provides for some protection against cross-country skiers, snowboarders, and snow mobiles by limiting access to the green complex.
