Syngenta redesigns GreenCast

The new site offers a pest library, podcasts and soil temperature maps.

Syngenta Professional Products has published a newly redesigned and enhanced GreenCast® information service (www.greencastonline.com). The GreenCast online portal offers its users free access to information to help golf course superintendents make more informed agronomic and business decisions. The new enhancements will help educate superintendents about pest management through an improved library, podcasts/video, easy-to-use soil temperature maps, and more.

One of the major new enhancements to GreenCast is a library of more than 100 pests.  This library offers information on biological, chemical and structural control methods of managing pests.

Additional enhancements include:

• Soil temperature maps -- maps that show which kinds of pests thrive in different temperature zones.
• 30-year-disease-average charts by geography -- charts that help predict the likelihood of destructive diseases, prevent disease outbreaks by tracking disease records, and plan for future applications.
• Agronomic plans -- a customizable planning tool that provides information about your location and treatment area.
• Pest alerts -- emails sent to you about threatening turf pests to help you stay ahead of insect threats in your area. You can also select options for GreenCast to send you alerts at lower threat levels well before the insect population becomes widespread.
• E-learning modules – modules that help you learn about the features and optimal uses of the products after reading the label.

GreenCast users can customize the site to display only the tools and resources they choose for their operation. In addition, the site has specific pages dedicated to the golf, lawn and landscape and ornamental markets so industry professionals can find information relevant to their respective markets faster.

“The updates and expanded tools on GreenCast make it the leading online resource for golf course superintendents,” said Dave Ravel, Syngenta golf market manager. “We encourage superintendents to utilize the agronomic plans as well as all of the other tools geared for their business on our site.”
