Syngenta hires new territory manager

Stephen Dorer is the new territory manager for North Carolina and Virginia.

Syngenta Professional Products is pleased to announce that Stephen Dorer, CGCS, has joined its Lawn & Garden team as a territory manager. Dorer, of Apex, N.C., will serve Syngenta customers in Virginia and in northern areas of North Carolina.

Before joining Syngenta, Dorer worked for Revels Tractor Co. in Fuquay-Varina, N.C., as manager of the firm’s John Deere Golf and Turf One Source Division. He also served as superintendent of the golf course and athletic fields at Methodist College in Fayetteville, N.C., where he oversaw construction of a $1 million, nine-hole addition to the golf course, and initiated the college’s participation in the Audubon Society Golf Course Sanctuary program.

Dorer holds a master’s degree in agronomy, with a concentration in turfgrass management, from North Carolina State University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association, and is past president of the Triangle Turfgrass Association.
