Syngenta Business Institute deadline is Aug. 16

Eighth annual business program will take place Dec. 5-8 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Golf course superintendents who want to deepen their understanding of business strategy and management have until Tuesday, Aug. 16, to submit their completed Syngenta Business Institute applications. Through SBI, Syngenta partners with the nationally ranked Wake Forest University School of Business to equip superintendents with strengthened business and management skills, including financial management, leadership development and negotiating.

The eighth annual SBI will take place Dec. 5-8 in Winston-Salem, N.C. Candidates must complete the application, which includes an essay on why they should be selected, relevant professional experience and educational background, to be considered. Accepted applicants will be notified in October.

“The Syngenta Business Institute is one of the most unique and rewarding experiences I have ever been part of,” says John Cunningham, superintendent and director of agronomy at the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, who attended SBI in 2015. “Having the opportunity to attend three days of business classes focused on the many challenges we face as superintendents was unbelievable. Spending time with other superintendents was beneficial, and walking away with best management practices, tools and solutions to help some of these problems was awesome.”
