Meridian controls a broad spectrum of soil and foliar pests at very low rates, through both contact and ingestion activity. It also is effective and well-suited for use on trees and shrubs.

“We are excited to announce Meridian as a new addition to the proven Syngenta portfolio of golf products and services,” said Joseph DiPaola, Ph.D., golf market manager for Syngenta Professional Products. “With its unparalleled control of a broad spectrum of turf insects, application flexibility, and speed of plant intake, Meridian will be a treasured tool for superintendents to use in creating playing conditions that bring golfers back again and again.”

Insects controlled by Meridian include soil pests such as billbugs and white grubs, Japanese beetles, oriental beetles, and European, Southern and Northern masked chafer; and foliar pests such as aphids, whiteflies, mealybugs and leafhoppers. Meridian is also effective in controlling fire ants.

Meridian is absorbed and transported through the xylem of the plant faster and more easily than other insecticides. The quick intake enhances Meridian insecticide’s curative properties and makes it versatile enough for use on trees and shrubs as well as turf. Meridian leaves page 2 of 3 little or no odor, and metabolizes slowly in turfgrass, allowing for extended control with good knockdown ability.

Superintendents using Meridian have an exceptional degree of flexibility in application timing and practice. There is a wide application window, allowing for more flexibility in the time of application, to maintain season-long control. Meridian can be used in either a split preventive application or a single application, whichever works best for the superintendent based on geography and agronomic practices.

Meridian will be available this spring in a 25WG wettable granule formulation for spray applications, sold in 17- (1 acre) and 4-ounce package sizes. Members of the GreenPartners loyalty program will receive points for Meridian purchases through Authorized Syngenta Channel Partners.
