The Super-Scratch Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the game of golf by supporting the next generation of superintendents, announced the appointment of Brian Laurent as its new director.

“I could not be more excited to join the Super-Scratch Foundation team,” Laurent said. “For years, superintendents have observed declining enrollment in turf programs across the country and a shrinking pipeline of individuals to fill vital roles on agronomy teams. The Super-Scratch Foundation is the first organization where club members and leadership are partnering with superintendents to create real solutions to this challenge. I’m honored to help the Foundation tell this story and continue investing in education for those who will care for the courses we all enjoy.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Brian to the Foundation to help accelerate our efforts in bringing more students into turf,” President Andrew Mason said. “Brian’s deep understanding of the industry, lifelong connection to the game, passion for cultivating the next generation, and his reputation among his peers make him an excellent addition to our organization. With Brian’s support, we are excited to execute the national initiatives we have planned for 2026, which will further our commitment to doubling our scholarship giving each year—a milestone we have achieved annually for the past six years.”
