Donnie Teeter is both the golf professional and superintendent at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club, a year-old facility in Albert Lea, Minn.
An Iowa native, former golfer at Iowa State University and alumnus of the turf program there, Teeter performs two roles on the course normally handled by two people at most courses, the Albert Lea Tribune reports.
“I just absolutely love what I do and I love the opportunity that they’ve given me here to oversee the pro shop and golf side as well,” Teeter says.
What Teeter likes about his job is the tangible evidence of accomplishment.
“You have a problem, you fix it and you get to go see it,” he says. “You get to have people come in and rave about the conditions of the golf course. That’s why we do what we do, is to try to create that great atmosphere out there.”
