Lee H. McBurnett has been named head superintendent at Fayetteville's Stonebridge Meadows Golf Club.

McBurnett comes to Stonebridge Meadows after a successful stint as an assistant superintendent at nearby Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville.

"We are all excited about the energy and talent Lee will bring to our team," says Bill Agler, director of golf at Stonebridge Meadows.

"We are looking forward to seeing him enhance the already high standards achieved by Stonebridge Meadows."

McBurnett will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of course maintenance, improvement projects and staffing. He will also be responsible for buying supplies, materials and maintenance equipment.

He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville turf management program and a member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America.

At Blessings Golf Club, McBurnett supervised a 22-man crew that maintained the course's fairways and tees, and its A-4 and G-2 bentgrass greens. McBurnett also devised, maintained and operated a state-of-the-art irrigation system that yielded substantial water savings.

Designed by Randy Heckenkemper, Stonebridge Meadows is ranked among the top four public courses in the state with a 4 1/2-star rating by Golf Digest. Stretching to 7,150 yards from the back tees, the par 72 layout has hosted the Arkansas State Golf Association men's and women's match play and senior men's stroke play championships. The course is an inaugural member of Arkansas' Natural State Golf Trail.
