St. Johns Golf & Country Club – the 18-hole Clyde Johnston-designed course between Jacksonville and St. Augustine – has completed a $300,000 renovation.
The extensive project, overseen by Billy Casper Golf, features renovations to all 76 sand traps, expansion and redesign of the practice putting green and construction of a new short game area. These enhancements are part of the largest overhaul in the club’s history.
“St. Johns looks to continue thriving in northeast Florida by remaining a top golf destination for players of all skill levels,” says Ben Pasquith, general manager of St. Johns Golf and Country Club. “The best way to do that is by continuously improving the golf course and respective amenities for our members to enjoy.”
Built in 2001, St. Johns Golf & Country Club offers a first-class experience centered around Florida wetlands, lagoons and towering pine trees. With five sets of tees, the beautiful layout tests guests of all playing abilities with the gold tees measuring 7,236 yards, while beginners and kids can enjoy from the popular “family tees.”
“Clyde Johnston was able to carve out St. Johns from a deep pine forest to create one of Florida’s best layouts,” says Jonathan Dick, head golf professional. “With the guidance of Billy Casper Golf, we look forward to making sure everyone can enjoy their experience here for years to come.”
