Newton, Mass.-based Southworth Development has purchased a controlling interest in the Kintyre Development Co. (KDC) through a Southworth affiliate. Southworth has been a minority shareholder of the company since 2006. KDC owns and is developing the Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club in
Southworth has wasted little time in getting to work, injecting several million pounds into the project to ensure that the property is finished on schedule and to the highest standard. Currently, construction on the first phase of luxury Golf Cottages continues to progress rapidly along with numerous improvements to the golf course and overall infrastructure surrounding the property.
"In addition to opening Machrihanish Dunes, we will soon begin the restoration of the historic Ugadale Arms and Royal Hotel, as well as launching the sale of the fractional free-hold golf cottages," said David Southworth, founder of Southworth Development.
