SouthWood Golf Club in Tallahassee will host Florida State University ("FSU") Seminole Athletic Day Saturday, May 13.
Players and coaches from FSU's nationally-recognized, NCAA Division-I athletic programs will sign autographs, participate in long-drive and putting contests and take part in other family-oriented activities such as face-painting, prize raffles and more. Specific programs, players and coaches attending will be announced prior to the event.
"As the home course of the FSU men's and women's golf teams, SouthWood Golf Club is excited to host the university's outstanding players and coaches and to provide SouthWood and area residents the opportunity to interact with these popular personalities," says SouthWood general manager Beth Murphy.
Since opening in 2002, the Fred Couples signature layout and its traditionally-styled clubhouse have emerged as the ideal coupling for hosting competitive golf tournaments, corporate outings and charitable events.
The SouthWood clubhouse is a 7,200-square-foot building with a wrap-around porch facing the 18th hole. Home to a full service restaurant, the golf shop, a small meeting room, locker rooms and staff offices, it was recently recognized by the prestigious ZAGAT Survey for having one of "America's Best 19th Holes."
