J. R. Simplot Co. selected Chris Claypool as the senior leader of Jacklin Seed Co. He will assume his duties as General Manager of Jacklin Seed Company operating within Simplot AgriBusiness effective immediately.
“Chris Claypool, Glenn Jacklin and Doug Brede, Ph.D. have been co-managing the organization very successfully over the past couple of years. We decided that it was time to designate a single manager to lead the company into the future,” said Bill Whitacre, Simplot AgriBusiness group president.
Chris has been serving as the Director of Sales for Jacklin Seed for the past ten years and began his career there more than 14 years ago after graduating from Brigham Young University. He has comprehensive knowledge of the turf seed business in both the domestic and international markets, having traveled in over 50 countries.
“We have the best employees, growers and customers in the business”, says Claypool. He plans to further advance strategic and operational strategies with Jacklin’s Management Board which includes Glenn Jacklin and Brede.
