Shea Homes has named Patrick Tombelaine general manager of Encanterra, a new Trilogy Country Club currently under development in the southeast Valley near the new Loop 202 South. The club will be the centerpiece for Shea Homes Encanterra community and will feature a championship-caliber, Tom Lehman designed private golf course that is slated to open in early 2008, as well as world-class dining, tennis and fitness facilities and an engaging social structure tailored to create an exceptional lifestyle for residents and members.

Prior to joining Encanterra, Tombelaine enjoyed an impressive career in club management, spanning 20 years of professional experience. During that time he served as general manager of some of the most prestigious clubs in the western United States, including Morgan Run Resort and Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California; Crow Canyon Country Club in Danville, California; City Club on Bunker Hill in Los Angeles, California and Metro Club Denver in Denver, Colorado. In each case, Tombelaine established himself as a talented individual capable of not only managing the asset to financial success but also establishing exceptional service and quality standards while creating an inviting ambiance at each club that truly served the needs and interests of the memberships.
“Patrick is an exceptional addition to our team,” said Hal Looney, area president for Shea Homes. “Bringing all the pieces together in order to establish a premier private club in a new market is never an easy task, but Patrick has proven he has the understanding, ability and drive to do just that time and time again. With his leadership and guidance, I have every faith that our members will enjoy one of the finest club experiences to be found in all of Arizona.”
The first key component to the club experience to open will be Encanterra’s exceptional Lehman-designed golf course. When play begins at the club in January of 2008, members and their guests will enjoy a classic core-golf design similar to those found at Arizona’s most celebrated venues. Rare in modern design, this technique enables the course to fold into itself, keeping its interaction with the residential aspects of the community to a minimum and creating a superior playing environment where nothing is sacrificed in Encanterra’s pursuit to provide its members with the finest golf experience possible.
The course also will feature a lush landscape palette reminiscent of those found at storied old-line country clubs throughout the Southwest. Breathtaking views of Superstition and the San Tan Mountains are offset by rich green fairways, mature trees, colorful flower beds and sparkling streams and lakes.
In addition to championship-caliber golf, Encanterra offers the signature Trilogy lifestyle in a private country club setting. The entire community exudes the Old-World charm and welcoming ambiance of a Mediterranean countryside village. Yet it affords members a host of decidedly modern luxurious amenities such as a spectacular club with a lush day spa, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and resort-style and junior Olympic swimming pools. Plus, Encanterra offers an inviting restaurant and café offering everything from inspired world-class dining to convenient casual fare. And, Encanterra will be a community for members of all ages.
