SG Express announces winners of "Extreme Course Makeover" challenge

Standard Golf Company announced the winners of its first ever SG EXPRESS "Extreme Course Makeover" contest.

Standard Golf Company announced the winners of its first ever SG EXPRESS "Extreme Course Makeover" contest, awarding one first place winner with $10,000 worth of course accessories and three "Mini Makeovers" worth $1,000 in course accessories to deserving golf courses and their superintendents.

Fla

The contest was offered to 20 SG EXPRESS members who were drawn at random from the company's membership list. Each selected SG EXPRESS member was asked to submit an essay on why his course deserved an "Extreme Course Makeover." Entries were then judged by a panel and selected based upon the course's need for new accessories.

This year's $10,000 "Extreme Course Makeover" winner is Wamego Country Club in Wamego, Kan. Wamego Country Club's superintendent is Trampis Nickel. Winners of SG EXPRESS' $1,000 "Mini Makeovers" are as follows:

Indian Hills Golf Course in Okemos, Mich. - John Petersen, superintendent;
Olde Oaks Golf Club in Haughton, La. - Jason Phipps, superintendent;
Sun River St. George Golf Club in St. George, Utah - Mike Petersen, superintendent.

"Standard Golf is excited to award these deserving golf courses and their superintendents with course accessory makeovers and appreciate their participation in our SG EXPRESS members program," says John Kelly, marketing director for Standard Golf.
