Sequoyah National opens in N.C.

The par-72 course is the first Western North Carolina design of architect Robert Trent Jones II.

Sequoyah National Golf Club in Whittier, N.C., opened this week, reports the Citizen-Times. The public layout, developed by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, is a 263-acre, $16 million project.

 

The par-72 course is the first Western North Carolina design of architect Robert Trent Jones II. PGA Tour member Notah Begay III, the only Native American on the PGA Tour, served as a consultant on the project.
