Palm Desert, Calif. – West Coast Turf is now offering a seeded hybrid seashore paspalum, Sea Spray, as both sod and seed.
The newly released Sea Spray is a salt-tolerant turfgrass that thrives under the salty conditions of reclaimed water, recycled wastewater and even seawater. It also performs well under reduced light quality conditions such as rainy, cloudy, foggy or smoggy environments.
“In many situations, alternate water sources such as non-potable or reclaimed water are the only options for turfgrass irrigation. Seashore paspalum is the ideal solution for these poor water conditions,” says WCT spokesperson, Danielle Marman. “Sea Spray sod is an instant remedy, as it eliminates the seed germination and establishment phase. And later, easy repairs to the turf can be made with Sea Spray seed.”
Sea Spray holds promise for golf course greens, tees, fairways and roughs, as well as landscape and sports field applications. Seed is immediately available, and the sod will be offered beginning this summer-both though West Coast Turf.
