KemperSports chose Paul Amaya as sales and marketing director of Butterfield Trail Golf Club, the Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course in El Paso. In this role, Amaya will be responsible for steering sales and marketing initiatives and programs for the club, scheduled to debut in late spring.
Amaya’s professional career includes experience in sales, marketing and hospitality management, particularly in the El Paso market as well as Mexico. Prior to Butterfield Trail Golf Club, he served as corporate sales manager at El Paso Marriott, utilizing public relations and marketing initiatives in conjunction with community outreach to raise awareness of Marriott in the local market. Amaya is an El Paso native.
“Paul’s sales and hospitality background along with his professional and personal ties to the local community and corporate sector will help to establish Butterfield Trail as one of the premier golf experiences in Texas,” said KemperSports' Marty Wells, general manager of Butterfield Trail.
Developed and owned by the city of El Paso’s Department of Aviation, Butterfield Trail features a par-72, championship design by world-renowned course architect Tom Fazio, complemented by a spacious practice facility and an 8,800-square-foot clubhouse. Fazio has taken advantage of distinctive desert topography, including natural sand dunes and native flora and fauna, to highlight the Southwest’s natural beauty. The 18-hole, public golf destination will serve as a high-end anchor to the airport’s surrounding property and business as well as a catalyst for future commercial development.
