Tega Cay, S.C. residents may vote on whether the city should buy the Tega Cay Golf Club.
Tega Cay City Council members are expected to vote this month on whether to hold a referendum on the golf course purchase. Officials said Wednesday they didn't know when the referendum could be.
Purchasing the golf course would require a referendum, said City Manager Grant Duffield.
City officials and representatives of the club's owner, Newland Carolinas, have discussed the city's buying the golf club for about $ 3 million since October.
The club, on Tega Cay Drive, includes 27 holes of golf, tennis courts, pro shops, a restaurant inside a 1,500 square-foot building and a pavilion on about 150 acres.
