Rounds decline in June

NGF reports rounds played volume decreased about 2 percent for the month and year-to-date.

Rounds played volume in the U.S. was down 2 percent in June 2008 vs. June 2007, according to the new National Rounds Played Report, a joint effort of Golf Datatech, NGF, PGA of America and NGCOA.

Rounds played year-to-date are also down – 2.1 percent.

Most regions posted losses in the month of June. Only the South Central (up 6.3 percent) and New England (up 2.0 percent) regions showed gains. Those two regions, plus the Mid-Atlantic, are the only regions with positive numbers through the first half of the year vs. the same period last year.
