Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort – home to the state’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature designed golf course – announced its 2007 golf clinics and lesson packages.
Clinics are taught by PGA Teaching Professional Bill Humbertson and kick off in June with “Overcoming First Tee Jitters” and go through October, capping the season with a lesson from the sand. Clinics are as follows:
- Overcoming First Tee Jitters: June 8 from 4 to 5 p.m. or June 9 from 2 to 3 p.m. Learn a pre-shot routine and improve set-up positioning while utilizing proven relaxation techniques.
- A Family Affair (Father/Daughter Clinic): July 9 through 15. A private lesson for father/daughter teams will help improve golf basics while introducing young women to the game. Daughters receive one complimentary round of golf with paying adult.
- Getting More Distance (Without Dislocating Your Entire Body): Aug. 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. Clinic teaches three tips to hitting longer irons and gaining valuable distance off the tee.
- The Short Game (Chipping and Putting Made Easy): Sept. 6 from 5 to 6 p.m. Learn to make repeatable greenside chips and improve putting by hitting the sweet spot.
- Playing from the Sand (Bikinis Not Required): Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to noon. Three tips to getting closer to the hole from the sand while taking the fear out of bunker play.
In addition to the clinics, Rocky Gap also offers a free 10-minute lesson through the month of May.

Three-hole Playing Lesson 1 hour $100
Clinics (1012 people) 1 hour $30 per person
Golfers can also request a swing analysis at Rocky Gap. The resort provides a customized private video analysis that records swings for complete visual demonstration to improve a golfer’s game. Each golfer who signs up for this program will receive a personal video as a memento of their lesson.
