RiverTowne Country Club in Mount Pleasant has been selected as the 2004 South Carolina Course of the Year by the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association.
The selection of RiverTowne was based on exceptional course quality, exceptional management quality, outstanding contribution to the community and signification contribution to the promotion of the game.
The award will be formally presented on Feb. 11, 2005 during the National Golf Course Owners Association's "Solutions Summit" in Orlando.
"The SCGCOA's honor is particularly meaningful in its sphere of coverage - from those who enjoy the quality of the golf experience here at RiverTowne, to our dedicated staff that is committed to providing a first-class environment, to the depth of how we give back to the surrounding community. We are proud that our efforts have been recognized," said Chad Leonard, general manager at RiverTowne.
RiverTowne, designed by Arnold Palmer, officially opened in 2001.
