Promoting from within, The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain, has named Jeffrey McCormick its new Director of Golf. McCormick is a member of the original golf staff at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, having served as head golf professional since May 2008. The Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course opened in January.
No more results found. McCormick, 35, has managed every aspect of the overall golf operation, from the golf shop and its staff, to golf merchandise, outside service, valet and locker room staff and responsibility for the overall financial performance of the golf department.
Now in his 11th year with Marriott Golf, McCormick provides great experience and expertise to his position, with a solid background with new golf facilities. He was on staff for the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club and Spa in Jupiter, Fla., and at more recently as the General Manager for Cottonwood Hills Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
“Being involved with every aspect of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain from its inception has been a great experience,” McCormick said. “It is getting even more exciting, with the opening of the hotel right around the corner.”
The new resort hotel and spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, is opening on Dec. 18. The serene desert retreat features a 17,000 square-foot spa, the finest cuisine prepared by world-class chefs and unparalleled sophistication and personalized Ritz-Carlton service throughout its 850 acres. Included are a 250-room hotel and adjacent cluster of secluded, multi-bedroom casitas.
Born and raised in Duncan, Okla., McCormick played college golf at Stetson University in Florida and then earned his degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration at Oklahoma State.
McCormick began his career in golf at Marriott’s Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Mo, before accepting his first management role with the company at Marriott’s Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale. His experience also includes the role of Golf Operations Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Jupiter as well as Member Head Golf Professional at Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami.
An avid fisherman since childhood, McCormick is married to his high school sweetheart, Julie. They live in Marana with their two young boys, Carson and Cooper.
